MemPak Backup in Save Manager
« on: August 24, 2013, 07:03:21 AM »
I was attempting to save the MemPaks and found that i can not change the name of the file being saved, because I can not select the letters. I get a group selection of letters instead of individual letters.

CART has 2.6 menu and v7 firmware.

Let me know your thoughts.

if i can remember correctly
you use the stick to select groups of 5 letters
then the yellow C buttons to select from the other 4

cant remember if you just release to input or press another button...

The DPad seems to select the group of letters, and the CPad selects the cursor location in the file name for editing. CPad L and R move the cursor left and right. CPad  U and D either delete or spaces.  I have not figured out how to select a group of letters and then pick one within the group.

It's not just the CPAD, it's also A and B. Look at those six buttons like this:

Code: [Select]
B  CL CU
A  CD CR

Those six buttons select the corresponding six characters hilited when you move the DPAD.

It makes sense if you think of the A/B/CPAD as a six button controller rather than A/B + CPAD. If you look at a stock N64 controller or the Superpad 64+, it even looks like six buttons rather than 2 button and a separate pad.
